Tom believes our state’s top priority should be job creation and economic growth. Past policies have failed us. In order to grow our economy and spur job growth we must:
- Cut taxes on small business, family-run businesses and entrepreneurs
- Eliminate burdensome regulations on all businesses
- Cut the corporate tax rate
- Attract businesses that want to grow, expand and stay in North Carolina

Cut Spending. Balance the Budget.
Tom understands how important every tax dollar is — and believes we must have full accountability and transparency of how your money is spent. If we are to really grow our economy and move our state forward, Tom believes we must cut wasteful spending.
- Eliminate special “pet projects” that only benefit a few
- Make government more transparent
- Cut the fat out of our state government
- Spend within our means to avoid future deficits
Improve our Schools. Empower Parents.
Education is key to our job creation. With high dropout rates, and students falling behind, it is clear our current policies aren’t working. The current politicians and political insiders have failed our children. Tom Murry will work to improve our education system.
- Reduce the dropout rate
- Reform state testing to accurately measure student performance
- Streamline school finances so more money goes to students and teachers and less to bureaucrats
- Focus on vocational and technical training to better prepare our work force.
